Our Heart

His was the heart that I bled from,

And of his lungs I took breathe.

His were the words that I lived for,

And in his arms I found warmth.

He was laughter and joy,

Triumph and toil.

He made me proclaim happiness and sadness at once

Turmoil and exultation.

His were the bones that formed me,

And from his side we became one.

His were the veins that flooded passion,

And from his touch I found peace.

He was and he is,

Has been and always will,

The love that I have come to cherish

And the heart that I find life in.

I write for myself. Writing poetry has provided a great outlet for me and it brings me joy. If something brings you joy it is best to stick with it so...pitter patter let’s get at’er.
